VE Day Meeting For a Saturday Tea Party

VE Day Chat
I have had a lovely meeting this morning with Caroline Lyons about VE Day celebrations. We wanted to arrange a little party, but when we heard that the Cree Valley Community Council were arranging a big street party on the Friday, we thought that we'd have a little tea and cake party on the Saturday at Penninghame Church Hall. We didn't want to clash with what the Cree Valley Community Council had planned and besides, we wanted to enjoy their party and then enjoy our own. It just extends the celebration time and that's no bad thing at all.

So we are just thinking low key, and keeping it simple. So tea and cakes (I said I'd get some lovely Co-op cakes to accompany the tea's)

We also talked about a bit of music and possibly some entertainment, and definitely something for the kids to delight them and wear them out. It's always appreciated if you can wear a few out, and it would be good to burn off the cakes!

Luckily the Church hall has a lovely sized hall and outside space and if the weather isn't favorable, the church have a gazebo we can use.

So we are aiming for an old fashioned tea and cake do, with a flavour of 1940's. Anyone wishing to dress up or have Victory rolls in their hair that would be brilliant!

The VE Day Party at Penninghame Church Hall will be on Saturday 9th May starting 2 till 4 O'clock.
